Least spoiling guide: How to get to 'the secret area'

Actually, that is *not* the area I was trying to get to, but rather an area that I had no clue existed. Interesting. Thanks anyhow! :D

I just got here on my own. Not really hidden or anything. But wow that was the most annoying puzzle so far to get in there.

It turns out that this *is* the entrance to the area I was trying to get to after all. Whew!

Thankyou! I've been looking for that for *hours*.

I was at 435+111+1, so I would consider myself competent at the game. Things I had already worked out:

• I knew from the visible puzzle through the glass walls at the base of the mountain that there was a secret door.
  
• I figured that I just had to solve a puzzle on the (deactivated) square by the sculpture in the red cave.
  
• I even worked out that I needed to activate that last power cable, unmissable since it frustrated so many attempts to solve the mountain door lock with its inconvenient hanging.
  
• There was likely a bonus for activating 11 lasers instead of 7, so opening more locks on the mountain's yellow box should have been obvious
  
• So many of this game's secrets revolve around gaining a new perspective

And yet with so many clues, I still missed this one, simple, obvious thing that could have saved me hours of frustrated wandering about. I was just about reaching the point where I'd stopped having fun, and you've saved me. Thanks so much. :-)

Thanks. This helped me move on. Spent hours looking and looking and looking, without ever finding an entrance. I never noticed that the box on the mountain needed only 7 lasers. I had already found 11 lasers by the time I entered the mountain so it never even occurred to me to look under the box. In my mind the yellow box was a solved puzzle so I never looked at it again. I also dismissed the statue in the red cave as just one of the many ornamental statues in the game. There really should have been a hint there that it connected to some larger puzzle, like a cable to the hidden door.
Glad I can continue playing, but I feel very bad I had to resort to a spoiler. Somehow it lessens the awesome feeling of this game even though I probably never would have thought of that solution!
