Few questions
So I remember months before the release of The Witness, there was an interview with a developer or something and they talked about features and how many puzzles were going to be (or were to be expected) in the game. Since then, I've wanted to get it, but the price tag deterred me, but now, the negative reviews are starting to grow, and I don't want to have to search through any of them for my answers (call me lazy, but whatever)

tl;dr - me want answers, not from reviews, haven't watched much gameplay

1. How does the transition from one level to the next happen? After you do the line puzzle and the door opens, does it just go to a blank screen? Are there multiple puzzles or is it just one giant puzzle-schematic?

2. How "open" is the game? I like games like this where I can freely fall off a cliff if there's a cliff, or look at a tree if there's a tree, with no bounderies. I want a calm/relaxing game, this seems to be it

3. Is there an option to change the color schemes? This seems like it would be neat in a game like this

4. Will it blend?

Thanks if you actually take time out of your day/night to answer my few dumb and/or obvious questions.

1. No level transitions, only one level.
2. Can't jump, can't fall.
3. No.

Well the jumping is a turn off, can't say much about not being able to fall. Thanks for the answers man

1) No levels exactly, you simply wander around from one puzzle to the next. You need to solve certain puzzles to unlock more in the area. If you get stuck, you can just leave and go to another area. Sometimes you need to learn something in one area to help you solve a puzzle in the next. The environment is your friend, a friend you wanna slap sometimes because PUZZLE:(

2) Open world as in you can explore most areas right off I guess. But you can't jump or climb stuff, so it's as calm or relaxing as it gets as you cannot die.

3) I don't think so.

4) My eyes become lines and dots if I play too long? '-----'

Thanks for answering, I've decided to get it. I just feel weird when I can't jump on a game because my space bar is there, and I want to tap it. Hopefully this relaxes me as much as The Talos Principle.

You are welcome! Hope you enjoy the game :)

I thought the Talos Principle was more actioney? If that is a word. I just wish this game had a story, but apart from that I'm happy ~

If you subscribe to Humble Bundle, you can get this game(and others for $12!) this month ^^

Yeah, I was looking at the Humble Bundle and was wondering if it would be worth it, I figured it was, but I wanted that extra verification that I wanted it. Yeah C: it had a lot more action and dealt with (I assume) philosiphy, which was nice, as at the time I was interested in philosiphy (still am, but as for now it's just "hey, look at this theorist, he wrote some cool stuff".

I hope we get some good games, last humble bundle they got a One Piece game ;-;

Ohh, I'm not sure if this has philosophy. Apparently there are recodrings you can find, but I have yet to see any(am about 3 hours in). I do like the way some puzzles are done though, even though I want to tear my hair out sometimes >.<

I hope we get some sweet games too! I only started subscribing to Humble monthly last month. Wish I had started earlier. Good luck to us both, hope we each get something we want :)

Yeah, starting earlier would have been great, but I'm stingy with my money (I say this, but I also want to spend). Since this has no story, I doubt any philosophy would be involved, though there potentially are some philosophies that fit into a game like this. Enjoy your game man

Enjoy your game too ~ bye!

Not being able to jump has a reason to be, but you might discover it later!
And The Witness has a story, even if it might not be very clear at first , you'll start to understand things way later in the game. :)

Dope, it'll probabaly be way later in the game for a puzzle if i do. I mean, I can specilate/theorize on what it all means, but I don't know, is it up to the player to decide or does it jave an actual story?
Floyd Apr 3, 2017 @ 5:15am
It mostly revolves about theories, for nothing is directly stated it the game. But if you gather all you've found after you finish it, you'll get some clear hints of what the game is about - or at least what it could all mean!
Batnip Apr 3, 2017 @ 6:17am
So it is all speculation, well, then this doesn't exactly fit in with beliefs. I can see what different theories you can come up with, even from even the slightest puzzle, even if I think of the stuff as cliché.
