Suggestion: Deleting trenches and barbed wire
Sometimes it would be nice, if we could still delete already placed trenches and barbed wire after we fought or first battle on a specific map.
A few times, I've won the first battle, but my trench-layout was kinda crappy or blocked a better position for my artillery. And then everything is locked in place for the following battles!
Maybe, it could cost some points to fill a trench and remove our wire from the previous battle.

I really don't understand why this is NOT already a feature.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, imagine being that guy. "Today, your job is to fill in that trench and remove that barbed wire in front of it!"

Private Potato runs out into the field and finds the other 5 dead dudes splattered across the field from the previous 5 attempts to remove the wire.

Therefore the Point-Costs 😁

I've just researched the blade-wire for nothing. The AI attacks me in the same region almost every turn, but I can't replace (or at least upgrade) my old barbed wire. :steamdeadpan::steamthumbsup:

personally i think thats a bad idea. the way it is now you need to think further ahead in your planning. your trench network you built is in a spot you wanted arty? thats on you to think about before digging the trenchs. if you screw up and now cant lay better layers of defense in future battles, well that happened. i like that if you do a bad job of placing defenses you have to live with it. you have all the time in the world to consider your layout.

I mean how do you think they put that barbed wire in the first place? Go at night, line it up, wait between two flares, go back for some sleep. Go at night, remove it (especially in preparation for an offensive), wait between two flares, go back for some sleep.

And then there are trenches I would want to remove on the second or third lines. Private Potato will kindly fill that trench with dirt so I can put my artillery there, or rework the network.

Finally, I've seen battles where the enemy's network had shrinked, with ghosts of trenches still on the field, so the assets are there, all that's missing is a button.

I don't mind, at all, paying a price to delete stuff but it should be a feature.

most of the time they didnt go out to collect the barb wire. in fact ive never read anything about that anywhere so if you have a source id love to see it. most of the time barb wire was layed in layer upon layer upon layer with openings for the troops to move through to advance on the attack. this was not had considering that in the cases where that much wire was layed, one trench was far enough from the enemys that you could get past it or cover your movement with smoke. when you wanted to clear the enemy wire you either sent night raids to do it quite or you bombed the hell out of it. but they werent just going out and collecting an ass load of barb wire theyd put out 2 days prior.

Good planning should still be a thing for sure. But if your plan doesn't work as intended at all, you can only surrender to give the region back to the enemy and then recapture it again!
(At least, I think so. Haven't tried it yet.)
Paying some Supply-Points to undo parts of a trenchline would be better, imo.
Or the barbed wire situation I'm in now. I can't upgrade it and I can't delete it.
(Speaking of the better wire: f:medidynasty_death:ckin' 20 Points !?! Maybe, I should be kinda grateful, that I can't build it there, anymore 🤣)

ok i do agree that being able to upgrade the wire you have down, just like the trenchs you laid that you can now upgrade, should be a thing. as for cost, yea, it sucks all around. i think barb wire should start at 5 with the upgrade to make it cheaper dropping it to 2 and the razor being 10. but as for if your defense didnt work out at hoped and you lost cause of it? good. im glad it happened/happens lol. it add consequence. it adds a feeling of having been out manuvered. and im against getting to scrap it all and start over till you find a way to cheese the AI (lets be honest here we are all looking for the ways we can lol its in our blood as stratagy gamers) that said lets meet halfway and the devs just let us be refunded for the trenchs THEY placed that i have to delete every single time so i can build my ACTUAL network. if i have to go through and spend the time clicking 30 little X's every fresh map at least pay me a supply or 2 for my trouble
