Or you want to get answers and spoil whole fun in learning and exploring the game? You can easily start attacking germans from turn 1. So keep playing and have fun trying to find out what to do.
I just dont get why i dont get my first reinforcements until turn 3 (and even then i hardly get any troops) while the germans just get enough troops every turn they get to do full on offensives against me.
1) Create a set of defensive lines that'll force enemy to go through the open ground each time they try to advance (two or three).
Here is a picture for reference:

2) Don't make straight lines of trenches - it's better to create a defensive maze of straight lines and sunken salients so that even if one or two trenches are suppressed, there is yet another one or two firing on the enemy at all times.
3) Do keep "breaks" between the trenches, so that enemy can't run from the first trench to the last via firing or communication trenches.
You can make communication trenches to help reinforcements to arrive safer, but keep their exits somewhere where a few backline trenches can see. That way any enemy coming out will find himself under a hail of bullets.
4) You can put machineguns on your second or third line of defense, where enemy artillery shouldn't reach easily. Without artillery to suppress or destroy them, you should be killing enemies by the battalions.
5) You can make your infantry better right away with Improved Helmets (1 research point) and Improved Sight (2 research points). This should give you a slight edge when fending off enemy infantry when it comes into melee and when using trenches to fire.
6) You don't have to attack right away. Consider defending until you have some technologies researches that'll allow you to take over trenches easier.
7) You don't have to hold all the objectives in order to hold your ground when defending - just make sure you still have at least one objective (ideally your HQ) to avoid a Sweep, meaning that you will still hold your region, just at cost of gold and National Will.
Here you cant just defend everything properly. Its okey to take defeats. Just try avoid major defeats and you are going be fine. ;) Make your own doomstack and have fun.
