F.E.A.R.

F.E.A.R.

Can't get Extraction Point into 1920x1080
Title pretty much sums it up I cant get the game up to that resolution which is odd because vanilla F.E.A.R. does widescreen just fine

What method do you use? Have you tried the command?
http://www.tweakguides.com/FEAR_7.html
"ScreenWidth" "1280"
"ScreenHeight" "1024"

I couldn't find the cfg files for extraction point because it shares a folder with vanilla fear and its folder within that doesnt have a cfg file

It's not the Steam folder. I believe it is where the game saves it's profiles, so by default I think it's saved under Documents/timegate studios/fearxp/settings.cfg

Try that. I got it working in 1920x1080 no problem back when I got the ultimate F.E.A.R. pack.

i love you
the method doesn't work, i really do not understand how do you people do it...
first i went to setting.cfg and i changed to the resolution i wanted (1400x900) but when i started the game it automaticly changed back to the lowest resolution (i didnt go in the display settings!!) and the resolution changed back in its lowest in settings.cfg.

then inve been told to set the file to read only and so i did but IT DID ABSOLUTELY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NOTHING!! the game changed back to i'ts lowest resolution with the exception that the file settings.cfg still had the resolution that i wanted so what the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell?

Why the ♥♥♥♥ does this game refuse to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ budge????
what am i doing wrong??

please note that im not going innto the display setting in the game, it just reverts back to it's lowest resolution the moment i start the game!!

If you have Nvidia then run it at 2715x1527 or maybe you need 1600x900

**Also go to your Graphics control panel and check all your settings for Ignore aspect ratio,
up/down scale options etc

Wait a minute. Doesn't fear 1 have the setting in game that automatically sets you to what it thinks is optimal? In Nvidia panel(not sure where) is an option to override any app settings

I know this post was a while ago, but I'm having the very same issue, hoping you've figured something out because this is driving me crazy.

Even if I am not planning to play the Vivendi timeline anytime soon, have you guys set your "Setting.cfg" to read-only after you changed the entries and saved it?

I figured something out shortly after posting that comment. For some reason the game didn't want to do 1920x1080p. Perhaps my moniter's resolution wasn't compatible. I was able to override it to 1600x900p and it stopped resetting to 640p right away

Well... Better than 640p I guess.
Actually it's a bit bad that only the base got updated to support widescreen up to 4K. :steamsad:
