fear is a virus?
I'm getting an avg alarm of unknown threat from the executive file ('fear.exe') - could be a false postivie ?

Heh fear.exe is fine. AVG is famous for false positives.

Maybe notorious? I used AVG for quite a while, worked well but did try to scare you with this sort of thing from time to time.

Not really an antivirus program (primarily a scanner) and active protection costs money.
No difference, free or not. Differences in virus databases for antivirus. Free program may be use old or uncomplete (no free antivirus also no exept).

im guessing english isnt your first language. also, malware bytes is an antivirus software. it blocks you from going to unsafe sites and scans downloads as they download. just scan your machine once a day and youll be fine. if you really want a secure computer just pay for it. its worth it.

I didnt just say malwarebytes now did i? i said malware bytes OR eset. if you want a good antivirus program get eset nod32. Also, some friendly advice, if you dont want to get ripped apart in forums at a later date, i suggest you dont edit peoples quotes.

You right, no first.
Best web protection is human's mind itself. Yes, web scaner may be block unsafe site, but human may also shotdown web scaner and enter in this site (also with download).
Free or not free antivirus? Technicaly both may fault, both no garanted 100% security. But anyway in Windows antivirus is need thing. Any.

of course all youve said is true. but he has really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ antivirus software. and these are suggestions for better ones.
