Game crashes
I've recently bought the FEAr bundle, and it works great at any resolution up to a point. Sometimes it'll crash during the intro videos, sometimes in the main menu, sometimes after playing the game for a good hour. It'll just freeze and I can't even quit it, I have to sign out of windows. I've checked my laptop using canyourunit and it puts me at not recommended, but all data considered I should be able to. Here's my specs using an acer aspire e5-571.

You shouldn't have to shut down windows, you can ctrl-alt-del. They made a strange design choice in win-8 where task manager is not always on top by default, which makes it useless for closing full screen apps, which got on my nerves until I found the solution. If this is your issue and it is not a hardware lockup forcing you to shut down, you can fix this right now by pressing ctrl-alt-del, go to task manager, go to options and enable always on top.
Crashing once per hour isn't too bad, just make sure you quick-save often.

Thanks to both of you for checking this out, checking out warcatt's info, I may have to fiddle with my settings a bit, and thanks species, that wasn't the issue but it did get on my nerves too.. so thanks for fixing that major annoyance!
