Does F.E.A.R 1 Multiplayer work anymore?
Are the servers shut down or am I missing some component to play multiplayer?

The official servers are down of course. There is still still some miltyplayer going on I think, but you may have to download a community patch or something. Just search for the topics here, there were a few or them

It said on the store page that multiplayer doesn't work and is not included.

"FEAR Combat" is a standalone mod I believe and has MP, even coop.

Multiplayer is still available and free without the need of the purchasing the FEAR game from steam.

download the SEC2 patch and add the files to your steam version

or

for those who don't have it download the full version.

YOU MUST REGISTER WITH THE SITE TO GET A CD KEY - REQUIRED FOR ONLINE PLAY - this is due to the creators and steam no longer suppling cd keys.
