Player Co-Op Local Multiplayer?

I read somewhere that FEAR 3 has a 2 player co-op campaign mode. I have FEAR 3 and FEAR 1, but I've never played this series and don't know anything about it. I really just want a shooter that I can play locally on my machine with my girlfriend, whether it's versus mode or campaign. Does this game allow local multiplayer?

I really wish more PC games would allow this. It would really help Steam bridge the gap even more between PC and console.

I have both FEAR and FEAR 3, but I have a 400 MB daily capped satellite internet connection. It will take hours during free time tonight to download one of these games and would like to know which game I should download before I actually download one. I'd prefer to start with the first game because I don't like things out of order, but I really just want to play 2 player with my gf this weekend.

F.E.A.R 1 and 2 are single player games. F.E.A.R 3 does not have local coop. You should really set up a second pc with two screens next to each other as few games will provide local co op. Resident Evil 6 is I fell a good game and it does have local coop on pc.

The problem with using two PCs is that I'd have to purchase a second copy of the game for my GF, something she is more likely to do after she's actually tried the game.

I'm in the exact same boat with my gf, just gotta pick up your second copies of games during sales. :( It would be great if steam was able to implement a feature that let you play multiple instances of the same game on one account if you are connected to the same internet network.

well there is a mod where you can play coop in fear 1. Its called Coop Warfare. This mod allows you to play coop on fear but you can play the campaign maps coop on coop warfare if you have installed the retail version.

actually theres 1 or 2 servers still up that have a stand alone COOP installed that allows you to play coop WITHOUT any extras for you, just join and it automatically downloads the files needed for that server and fast download speeds, me and my wife play them alot but they can be very hard and some maps do have glithes.

just download the full version (or the SEC2 patch if you have the steam version) to play online but you MUST register with the website to get your CD key.
