What are games inspired by FEAR called ?

Sorry for the weird title, let me rephrase it : If shooters inspired by DOOM, HL, Quake or Duke Nukem are boomer shooters. What are games inspired by FEAR, HL2, or Far Cry 1 supposed to be called ? Millenial shooters ? 21st century shooters ?

FEAR is almost 20 years old and so is BLACK, and Crysis 17, can we consider them retro now ?

Like Trepang, I just want to play even more explosive, slowmo, colorful and gory shooters and we're at that point where it may become more common for indie devs to make some, it's exciting !

i don't remember any equivalent name being coined. should come if game devs and editors really want to make a deal out of it.

I know Selaco's combat, enemy a.i. and particle effects are inspired by F.E.A.R., but the game description just says that it "draws inspiration heavily from F.E.A.R.". I do wish the fearlike/woo-like/half-like could become a thing and have a contentiously catchy name because that would mean there would be more games like F.E.A.R. to play.

I enjoy Selaco, even tho the level design isn't my cup of tea.

If Trepang could have a level editor and a Workshop, I think it would be enough for a while. But yeah, I'd love to see more "gun foo" games. There are also first 1st person view mods for The Max Payne games, I def should try that aswell.

fair enough for fear and trepang being "woo" (well gunfu is the term i've heard), but hl2 and far cry 1 don't feel very john woo in comparison.
