And no, I didn't read it, I stopped after you expressed your belief that a studio that does beat 'em ups, and only beat 'em ups, would be suited for remastering (or even, the horror, remaking!) a horror FPS.
Are The Only Studios That Could Pull This Franchise Off,
The Makers Of Silent Hill, & Resident Evil & Fatal Frame
Sorta All Have Their Issues Here...
1st Off Resident Evil:
CapCom Hasn't Exactly Been At The Helm Of Resident Evil
In A Good While, Their Just All With ReMakes, & ReMasters,
& The Supernatural Experiences Have Not Been Well Received,
& Feel Very VR First Person Like, & I'm Just Not Drawn To Go
Play A VR Like FEAR Game, Even Though It Might Be Good...
Then There Is The Makers Of Silent Hill,
& While They Have That Sorta Tone, & All That,
& Really Compelling Deep Story, & All, Their
Silent Hill Games Aren't Really All That Strong
In Terms Of Blood, Gore, Dark, & Light Tones
For Their Games... Ya, The Early Ones Had It,
Well Sorta, But The Later Games Just Haven't
Been Well Silent Hill In A Good While...
Soooo, Silent Hill Stories Haven't Really Been
Popular Since The Early Games Of The Franchise...
Fatal Frame Makers, They Had A Great Idea For
A Horror Experience Dealing With Urban Legends,
& Folklore Horror Experiences, But However They
Never Really Grasped The Dark Lighting Effects
That Made FEAR Sooo Impressive Looking...
The Makers Of Dead Space??
Have All The Elements, But The Games Lack
Character Development, & You Don't Know If
They Can Pull Off A Human Like Ghost Story,
Because Well All We Have Is Horror In Future Space,
But If They Had Control, FEAR Would Have Some
Kind Of Agenda Ruining It's Overall Quality Of Game,
Like They Did With Dead Space 1 ReMake That
Wasn't Well Received...
The Makers Of The Evil Within Could Make This All Work,
They Are Very Talented, But The Evil Within Was Way Too
Scripted, & Puzzle Based, That It Works In Some Areas & Not In Others,
I Don't Know How They Can Handle A FEAR Game...
Then Finally, Comes Mortal Kombat & WB Games Studios??
They Already Have Made 3 FEAR Games As It Is,
& They Haven't Exactly Mustered Up A Likable
Experience From Their Fan Base Yet, Sooo As
A ReMake?? I'm Almost Unsure WB Games Would
Ever Even Want To Try & Take A 2nd Crack At The
Overall FEAR Game Again...
I Just Don't Know What Studios Would Fit FEAR 1,
& Be Able To Sorta Do The Game Justice As An
Overall ReMake At This Point, & Think That We
Might Just Be Stuck With A Game That Nobody
Is Gonna Want To Touch Going Forwards, Because
How Well The Game Was Done, & How People
Reacted To The Game...
Yes The Game Could Be Done, & Done Well,
I'm Just Not Seeing It Happening In This
More Digital 2020's Age, Though...
AI & Unreal Engine 5 Would Bring Problems With Optimizations,
Character Development Would Be Very Flat,
Level Designs Would Look Very Surreal Kind
Of Like Super Ficial & Artificially Fake Looking,
& The Gameplay Probably Would Have A Lot
Of Pink Red & Weird Color Schemes To It,
& Feel A Lot More As A Live Service Game Experience...
Something Like That, Is How I Pictured
A FEAR Game Made By Any Studio In
2024, & I Just Can't See This Game
Getting A Properly Done Experience...
Does Nobody Agree??
Look at fear complete edition, people can bash the mod all they want but its a damn good mod regardless. Dunno why people are so negative cause its got a few fear2 guns and a few fear 2 replicas? Why does that make it a bad mod I don't get it?
It also runs better than vanilla fear, the fps feels smooth and fluid and the mod never slows down. If this can be accomplished from one modder then why couldn't a company do an even better souped up version with new assets?
Fear don't need all this new crap to gunk up the system, a proper retooled remaster would be good enough. Wish the guy whoever the genius is hadn't stopped at just fear 1 with the complete edition, wish he had done EP at least cause I frickin love EP.
