FEAR MP isn't starting (FEAR Combat as well)

When I try to switch to MP, it just opens and then closes immediately and I've tried the compatibility modes (troubleshooting). I'm running on win 8, single player runs with no problems.
I cannot play FEAR Combat because of the same reason. Any help would be appreciated.

The Steam side of Multiplayer issue is because it has no support.
The master server that's required for original fear MP closed down in 2012.
To play multiplayer you need the next version of fear.

Download the Sec2 version, install it with the key you get from the community website when you sign up.
Then you should be hopefully good to go.
I run the community sec2 combat and have no issues, Windows 7 here.
My parents both run it on Windows 10 and it runs sweet.

Okay, my question is, if you go to the game directory, and click on FEARMP.exe, does it open? If so, you don't have my problem. Also, like I said, I've already installed Combat but the same thing has happened, game opens one second and closes the next one.

Have you tried running combat in compatibility mode for Windows XP?

The worst thing about PC's is compatibility, all I have seen for years is what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for the next.

Yeah, that was me chatting with fred. I had a nice talk with him, turns out not even he can fix this problem. And believe me I have tried everything.

My last resort is going to be when I upgrade to win10 somewhere near christmas, let's just hope game and the fanbase stay alive till then.

The MP part of the game is dead thanks to Gamespy's shut down.
Same goes to all games that used Gamespy.

Nevermind, guys, I've fixed the problem!
Turns out all I had to do was to turn off DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for FEARMP located in Advanced System Settings.
