Can't configure 360 controller

The controller is recognized by the game and works, but when I go into the option to configure it, there's noting on the screen except for X-Axis and Back. Any idea why?

I'm actually having a similar issue, even just using the controller configs people have made for the game, the game just never actually registers my input in game. I'm really in the mood to replay FEAR, but I really want to do it on the couch and with a gamepad.

I am having the same issues with the Xbox one controller...what gives?

This game has no any native controller support, at least not on PC, only partial.
Your best bet is to emulate kb-mouse input using controller through some program, such as x360ce or Controller Companion.

Very possible. The controller works fine except that I can't personalize it. Inverted Y axis is just so much more natural for me as that's how aircraft are controlled. You push forward to tilt down, pull back to tilt up. I may end up having to use my steam controller.

I know this game is on PC, but I had it on the Xbox360. So it's no stranger to 360 controllers.

I had it on the 360 as well. I don't know which platform it came out on first, or it may have been released simultaneously. Unfortunately, developers don't always try to keep the same controls across platforms. I understand that some games like the original Diablo didn't port well from pc to console because of the point and click interface but FEAR is so obviously meant for the controller it's a shame. Another example was KotOR which worked fantastically with the xbox controller but the pc release was m/kb only.

i used xbox 360 controller by going to steam > settings > controller
but i prefer mouse and keyboard for this game.
