Why is Paxton Fettel a cannibal? SPOILER

I finished the game and didn't get this. Even eats his sister while his mother watches. I get that they want to be reunited so kills each other but why does he eat people? Is it ever explained?

The first guy he ate was to absorb his memories. And Paxton doesn't have any sister, just one brother.

Paxton became insane because he merged with the consciousness of his mother. He started to dream about killing and cannibalism way before the FEAR's event. Alma loves her sons but hate the other members of her familly.

In some cut content Paxton directly said
Paxton Fettel: His blood was bitter with guilt. But it told me secrets!
This quote seems to occur during the level-one cutscene where Fettel informs the player of the dead body's identity. This confirms that Fettel absorbs the memories of victims when he cannibalizes them.

The confusion is excused. Alice Wade is not Paxton Fettel's sister. Paxton Fettel is Alma's son. Alice Wade is not Alma's daughter. Alma was artificially inseminated, so there is no father to Paxton Fettel or HVE known as Pointman. Alice Wade's father is Harlan Wade and her mother is not known. Alma is Alice's sister. Since PFettel is Alma's son, and Alice is Alma's sister, Alice is PFettel's aunt.

He eats her to get her memories, the location of the vault, which she gave to FEAR, but PFettel had to extract by force.
