A bunch of weeks ago I decided to re-install the game and it worked just fine. Yesterday, after a week or two of not playing, I decided to continue where I left off, but now I'm having ridiculous saving times as well. The eerie background music keeps playing, but the rest of the game seems to freeze (no light flickering, for example). When I perform an action, such as shooting, it will be executed after the game 'unfreezes'.
I suppose it's related to some kind of Windows update.
So far I've tried fiddling with various options in the NVIDIA control panel, excluding the installation folders from my virus scanner, running the game in various compatibility modes, running the game as administrator and experimenting with various options in the game itself - all to no avail.
I also tried starting a new campaign to see if it was perhaps related to the save file, but the problem persists.
My operating system is Windows 8.1, my virus scanner is Avast.
Did you - or anyone else - manage to fix this issue?
Thank you, I found this works for me as well. Strangely enough my gaming laptop was started normally before encountering the issues (no hibernation inbetween or anything), but somehow logging off and logging in did the trick.
Thanks!
