WorldEdit - how to open World00p file ???

WorldEdit can open only World00c and World00a files, but all singleplayer maps (Worlds) are in World00p extension.
In tutorial for GDBEdit is, that i need open it with WorldEdit, because i want add new weapo and to do that, i need add it to some singplayer map and make it default level weapon so it would be accessible in the game world.
So it makes no sense, that i can't open world file in WordEdit, if it is even written in tutorial, that you have to do that in order to add a new weapon.
