AI Difficulty
Hello,
I don't have a wheel and am a decent not great racer with a controller.

I skipped f1 22 but played f1 21 for quiet a bit and enjoyed it.
My main question is whats the best way for a casual player to find the right AI difficulty for themselves to be able to enjoy a myteam career against competitive but fair AI?

You can start a grand prix in the F1 world mode with equal performance switched off and then try some blitz qualifying with different AI settings. Since you're having a weak car in MyTeam it might also be a good idea to do it with one of the weaker cars as well. You should be roughly as fast as you team mate in such a scenario. Just keep in mind, that the difficulty might vary between different tracks depending on your skill on said tracks.

Also doing more training laps definitely prevents you from accidentally getting faster than expected in a race due to learning it on the fly. If you don't want to wear your engine parts, then driving a littlebit in for example time trial can also help.

Start a grandpix with a car of your choice.

Adjust the difficulty and restart untill you match the time of your team mate. ( because he has the same car obviously)

Thats roughly what your fair ai level is then. Beware though it can vary from track to track. On some the ai is stronger or youre worse.

Thats what i did always and it always worked.

here you can set a lap in time trial in each track and it will calculate the difficulty level for you

Firstly, pick 1 driver you want to be as fast as. For example, I choose to be as fast as Hamilton. Go to Gran Prix mode, pick Russell and use 1 shot qualifying. Start the difficulty at 50 or 60. After qualifying, for every 0.1 second you're slower or faster than Hamilton, increase or decrease the difficulty by 1. Means if you're 1.2 seconds faster than Hamilton, increase the difficulty by 12.

Every Driver drives differently due to their ratings. You should do the qualifying multiple times as well because they don't finish the exact same time every qualifying. After 5 tries, pick the average. For me, I always match my pace with Norris since F1 2020. So no matter what car I drives in, I will always be as fast as Norris but never as fast as Hamilton and Verstappen.

F1laps.com is your best bet. Do 5 time trial laps on each track before you race your myteam weekend to find your difficulty setting for that track. Not every track will be the same Ai difficulty for you. For example if you're on Bahrain in your myteam career, exit out of career. Go to time trials. Do 5 laps on Bahrain. Input the average time from those laps into f1laps.com. Then go back to myteam career. Go to settings and input the difficulty. Do this before every race and you will get the most realistic Ai and career experience.
