Only getting 30fps even on RTX4090...
Only getting 30fps even on RTX4090...

So I'm gaming on 4k monitor 160hz but only getting about 30 fps (1% lows) even on RTX4090... Yes I just tonight updated to latest Nvidia gaming ready drivers and my Windows 11 is up to date.

In comparison I'm doing 4k ultra with path-tracing (highest form of ray tracing) in Cyberpunk and get about 55+ fps without DLSS3, and with frame generation turned on I get around 90fps.

I'm really struggling to see where or how this F1 23 game benefits from ray-tracing, I honestly cannot tell the difference, unlike a game like Cyberpunk when its glaringly obvious when RTX is turned on which when its ray tracing or path tracing etc...

Anyway, I set it to 4k, ultra settings in the F1 game, I don't use AI upscaling because it makes it blurry as heck, like so many others have noticed and also reported. I do try to get frame generation to work but its greyed out and won't turn on... and yeah I don't have HDR turned on, in fact I have the same matching settings for F1 22 and in 2022 version the frame gen works great.... so there must be a bug in 2023...

In any case, as it stands, I'm only able to get around 30fps on a RTX4090 in F1 23....

Have EA taken a page from Starfields or what?!

Ctrl-Atl out of the game and Ctrl-Alt back into the game (fixed this issue for me on the EA App trial version)

I am not using EA Play nor the EA app, I am just purchased the standard version and using the default Steam app library and yes it extracted and finished installing last night around 11PM CST and then I was able to play...

I turned off ray tracing and its a lot faster, honestly couldn't even tell the different when RTX was on or off, this is not the sort of game that suited to showcase or showoff ray tracing

i had this issue after installing the latest nvidia driver, which is explicitly for f1 23. i rolled back to the previous version and the 30 fps issue went away again.

im on a rtx3080

maybe this helps you.

the game definitely has a few graphical problems, which will hopefully be resolved soon.

Hi there,

I also have rtx 4090 and had the same problem with fos locked to 30. Just disable Nvidia reflex + boost option and the fps recovers while GPU utilisation instantly shoots up to 99%. Obviously it is bugged at launch together with greyed out frame generation option...

So the "only getting 30fps" title is hugely misleading since only 1% of your framerate is actually hitting 30 :winter2019neutralyul: that still leaves 99% above 30?

How does one disable Ray Tracing with an NVIDIA card please ?

120fps on 4k, default high settings, 3080ti. check your drivers/system.

The op made me laugh with his lack of experience and owning a 4090 and complaining of poor fps and of course comparing it to cyberpunk. At least someone caught on to the 1% lows fact, rofl.

I know that this is a necro'd topic concerning out of date drivers etc etc, but for the sake of Google searches, you need to disable each graphical setting concerned with raytracing. There is no "off" for all.

Tbh this is a game where the graphics don't matter much at all unless you're taking screenshots. I run it on mostly medium/high just to make it not an eyesore. 5800x 4.4GHz, 64GB 3800MHz, 4080 16GB with a mid overclock, 1440p, 120fps locked, no DLSS or anything like that.
