Banned for "F1® 23 Champions Upgrade" DLC Purchase ???

Hey guys, I was going to get the "F1® 23 Champions Upgrade" DLC before it gets delisted, but then I stumbled over a review which makes me question if I should get it or not. The negative review on the Steam store page reads as follows:

"If you purchase this from Steam and use it in game, EA will revoke your account. There is a problem between Steam and EA that neither will take responsibility for. The end result is your reward for purchasing DLC is having your account banned."

True story or just trolling? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me a bit. EA and Ubisoft with their triple DRM nonsense, pure incompetence. So did anyone else experience the same issue, too?
