New graphics drivers did nothing
I know my specs aren't amazing but F1 22 ran perfectly and it exceeds minimum requirements by 40-50% according to PC Gaming Benchmark.
I'm getting random stutters- 2-3 seconds of screen freezes and I'm getting bad fps drops especially when using flashbacks in the rain. The game is unplayable at this stage for me.
So I had task manager open while playing to see if there are any changes in the hardware that occurs when the FPS Drop starts.
So I was racing and then like normal, it hits randomly.
The GPU was fine, the RAM was fine, storage, wifi, all that was okay.
The one thing that happened was my CPU Utilization tanked (From about 50% to 17%)
Does this mean that this issue is caused for improper CPU usage? Can anyone report back if this also happens to them when the FPS drop occurs??
Thanks y'all
There's definitely an improvement but still have a 1 second stutter which seems to happen at race start, when exceeding track limits (especially if it involves going onto more curb or gravel) and if I get hit from behind.
The rest is an all too familiar story we've heard so many times before with so many releases:
Devs likely having to compensate for issues the publisher-picked DRM is causing, which may take a couple patches.
Its sounding wird but it works, a thank you from me.
Unfixed since '22 while '20 and '21 never fail to work to this day, Tried every driver combo, win10 vs 11, different rigs-- it's a true post-EA game engine bug that never got fixed.
Almost yet not completely; one look at the '22 technical support forums will show even console players complaining about their gear suddenly having problems they never had in '21 and '20, same here for pc.
If after 300+ starts both those games never once had input issues for us (even as we speak) while '22 and '23 do, it's clear where the difference is.
The same ego-engine codemasters built is still being used under the hood, but it's clear there's been some changes to input handling (perhaps after trying to make it multi-threaded or adding support for something else?) which broke support for separately-connected configs and hasn't been fixed since.
I can try and name the full list of games still working without any issue today including all F1 releases we own dating back to 2011, the Project Cars series, Dirt series, Assetto series, iRacing and more-- out of all the racing games we have it's just F1 '22 and F1 '23 with "sudden" problems.
(and yes for '22 you can even see PS and XBOX-players up to people owning $1k+ pedals being as baffled about it as we were)
Must be a bug, cause I was playing fine at Bahrain race, and things went south as soon as the night fell. Similar in Vegas, no issue with daytime races, but it's impossible to play at night settings.
