If you buy F1 2023 from Steam, does it run directly as a steam game? Or an EA Play game?

I know some Steam games just download a bootstrap to launch the game on another platform (Like MS Flight Simulator). Does F1 2023 launch directly from Steam without an EA Play intermediary or whatever it is called? Thanks in advance for your help.

well for me it turned on without the EA play, i only had to log in to EA account in the game so i guess, it runs directly on steam

It runs directly through Steam. I was scared of this too, because even the game page acts like it needs a third party launcher.
