VR is dead
Same as last years game but that one knobhead here will tell you otherwise. you'd need beefy GPU to run it smoothly.

and don't reply with you gotta mess around with settings....♥♥♥♥ that most games work out the box without having to spend hours configuring.

If Josh replies he touches kids

VR worked great for me in single car time trial, as soon as I wanted to actually race... yeesh. Awful.

Yup VR is actually WORSE than last year. Most impressive. It's almost as if they're like 'Yup, we tried. Never mind.' VR will be dropped next year - it's mo surprise it wan't released for PSVR2 - the PS5 wouldn't have been able to cope.

Shocker.

Lol Josh will be here in no time to bang on about how amazing it is...

Surprise surprise there's VR issues immediately.

The bigger problems with F1 '22 werent even with VR-- look at their own forums to see 30k posts about steering wheel issues even on consoles :winter2019neutralyul:

It takes up to 10 tries each time to even get last year's game running with our setup over here, but when it ran VR just worked. It's been input and other non-vr issues keeping way more people on the fence and sour.

That said any links to vids confirming problems are welcome; lets try and refrain from the personal attacks and have some constructive talk here

I'm not sure if you saw OPs post it was specific to VR so yeah that's issue being discussed.

There are already others for peripheral complaints lol...

Het is een slechte game, geen trippel ondersteuning, slechte ffb,en grafisch zeer slecht voor vr.

F1 22 ran smooth for me and looked pretty nice, albeit not far above what I'd call minimum acceptable graphics, but that's running on a 4090 and 13900k which I appreciate is not the norm at all. That title, and no doubt this one, is indeed FAR from VR optimised, but if you are fortunate enough to have top specs, it's passable (just).

So fat at least for me I've had 1 instance of tracking loss... of course it was a hairpin and night races have some sort of foggy reflection which is not ideal for me at least frame rates fine other then those 2 instances bit of a stagger from last year...

After some extensive testing, I can confirm VR DOES actually work this year - i's VERY system intensive though, and you're going to need a pretty beefy GPU to get this to work smoothly even at 72Hz.

I refer to my post - worth checking out if you're having stuttering and frame pacing issues.

VR in F1 22 was what I considered the most minimal level of acceptable possible. Using Open Composite got it to the point where it was really enjoyable. This year it's completely unplayable out of the box. Just glad I was able to test it out in the 5 hour EA trial play instead of buying it. Gonna have to wait and see if Open Composite can save the day again before I buy it.

My only real issue is night circuits have a weird reflection tho that may be RTX needing to be disabled

Wow, that actually did the trick. I wasn't even gonna bother trying since I already had the same oculus settings and 100% steam vr scaling with all the in game settings as low as they could go. Looks like it was pretty much entirely the anti-aliasing setting causing problems. Runs fine now with TAA only. Even scrolling past the other options and then going back to TAA completely bogged down the game for me until I restarted.

Glad it worked for you - clearly shows DLSS and FSR are utterly broken in this game - I see a LOT of people posting about performance issues, I bet most are using DLSS to improve performance... I hope Codies get this fixed at least.
