Sanctum 2

Xbox controller
Is there some button I missed hitting? Xbox controller is on, start the game, and pressing buttons does nothing. I'll keep at it, but I would really appreciate some help or confirmation that other people are having trouble.

Xbox360 controller should just work out of the box (just verify that windows have detected it in the control panel)

The only thing that comes to my mind is that your input ini's have been corrupted or set to a strange state.

If you first verify the game cache of the game so that the files are correct on your computer and then go to:
<MY_DOCUMENTS>\My Games\Sanctum2\SanctumGame\Config
and delete your SanctumInput.ini file

the keybindings should have reset to the default state

I'm sorry to necro this thread but it's the only one that is relevant and I figure it's better to consolidate such things. Especially since this doesn't have a follow up indicating any resolution. At any rate, I'm having the very same problem. Wired USB XBox 360 controller. Recognized fine by windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, works fine in other games. Just does nothing in sanctum 2. I'm able to use my mouse and keyboard without any trouble.

I have tried the erasing of the ini file as described above, to no avail.

No problem, I guess I should have posted what I figured out that worked.
Make sure you don't have anything else resembling a game controller besides the 360 one plugged in as you start Sanctum. That's all I had to do. If you have some random logitech controller plugged in, unplug it, fire up your Xbox controller, and start sanctum. Other than that I can't help you.

I'm having a similar problem. I've deleted the ini file, redownloaded it, checked for driver updates, etc. and still nothing. The crazy part is that the controller worked until the game crashed on me, and after that hasn't worked.

Other USB control devices can screw up your xbox controller's input, and some games may not recognize it. I had this problem, I discovered, with a bunch of other games as well, and unplugging all unnecessary USB and other devices before launch cleared it right up.

Same problem here. I have an 360 wired controller that works perfectly in every game that supports it, except sanctum 2.

For the record, what Meta Ridley has said turned out to be the issue for me. I have a Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse. Upon removing the receiver for the mouse I'm able to use my 360 controller in Sanctum 2. So here's my vote that this gets fixed in a future patch. :)

I think its not the game's fault, it has something to do with a recent Xinput (or whatever software manages the xbox controller) update I think, since this problem exists in other games that auto-detect the xbox controller. Glad I could help though.
