Sanctum 2
Steam not allowing me to install and download sanctum 2.
Once i purchesed sanctum 2 and clicked install game, it did its usual thing showing the amount of space it takes up etc. than once it started installing it, it almost instantly said

"Steam-Error

An error occured while installing Sanctum 2 (unknown error)
See the Steam support site for more information

OK"
I dont know why i cant install it ive got an alienware computer with over 500gb of free space still on it.

This has happened to me with a few games before. Try exiting steam completely, then re-open and log back on. It fixed the issue for me when I bought Alan Wake.
Um do i sign in or just exit? also thanks for the help because it really sucks when people dont comment or anything and your stuck with something you dont know how to fix

Exit steam, like, 100% completely close it. Then start steam back up. It might work.

Hey bud, I don't want to be a party pooper, but I think you'd be finding a problem if you're trying to 'install' the game before you actually 'download' it.

On-topic: I can't help outside of the generic things, but better than nothing.

Check HDD space, disk quotas, folder access/write permissions; Give it a day or two in case Steam are having issues, check Steam updates, maybe try beta client.

@Dan: Hey bud, I don't want to be a party pooper's party pooper, but I think you'd be finding that Steam does that for you and presents no problem.

What they said is how it happens: Buy game>Success page! "Install Games" button on page>Click through some menus>Game "installs" then begins "downloading">Eventually done, play button on page/in Library launches pre-game stuff.

Edit: Their wording might just be slightly off, since if you don't start the process the first time it's Find Game>right-click install>click throughs>download>play.
