Sanctum 2

Plumber's Boots overpowered? Pros and Cons.
Hey guys, I've been playing through Sanctum 2 and have reached the level in which you obtain the Plumber's Boots perk. This is the perk that deals 5000 damage to an enemy who's head you jump on.
Pretty bizare, right? It sounds really fun, and it is!
But doesn't it also sound OP?
Being able to jump on enemies heads without wasting a bullet and kill them just as quickly?

Well, yes, but then again, you do risk killing yourself in the making. Also, it's less effective/not effective at all on enemies with immunities and particular spots that you can damage the enemies at.

It's a great and fun perk, one that brings up strategy and a level of fun to the game. I'm really loving Sanctum 2 and I don't mind the change in gameplay. If I want to play an FPS/TD hybrid like the Sanctum series, I'll play the original Sanctum, since that still brings me great enjoyment.

If you want, post what you think about this perk and if it's useful or not, or even post about the game. Go ahead.

When I first got these they were hands down the most effective option for killing heavies and super heavies. Later on though heavies simply weren't a big enough issue compared to hoverer queens and bobbles that are harder/impossible to effectively bounce on.

While I don't use them myself, a mate I play with does. They seem like a very strong weapon against heavies like the above poster already mentioned, but killing most other enemies seems somewhat inefficient/impossible/not worth the effort. As a great counter to heavies but with not many more applications, I wouldn't think it's to be considered op.
It appears to be way too much fun and very tempting to go all mario on enemies all the time though!

Sweet autumn with this and double jump perk. I really can't stay on the ground :D

I admit it does feel OP but it can also bring out some crazy clutch chain kills, especially during boss fights.

1. Equip plumbers boots
2. Turn on all feats of strength
3. Instantly regret #1

It's great but it's not op, it has many down sides, and with hardcore on it would be rather insane to use.

i dont think you have seen the things SiMo can do yet...
80k damage, 200k if its a soaker.

pen rounds + sniper rifle + bloated soaker + bloated soaker (who almost always dies immediately) + damage perks = 1 shotting EVERYTHING unlucky to get in his warpath.

(that said, its so rare, but you need to see static discharge for a similarly awesome experiance)

static discharge % is too high, pen rounds is ungodly when you get it perfect (happens rarely though)

maje, whenever you rave about simo, you only ever mention a soaker. Soakers appear in only like 10% of the waves in general, and that might be a high guesstimate. Anyone with static discharge attacking a soaker will wreck havoc. Anyone using corpse explosion killing a boss that is surrounded by enemies will call corpse explosion OP, because that damage is enough to wipe out anything. A soaker corpse explosion kills anything but a boss, even an armored heavy (this only applies in the the first cycle of a map) And for characters not packing ways to kill heavies, the plumber shoes are great if you know what to attack with them. I used them in roadworks (Full Force FoS) on youtube, and I got solid results.

Personally, I feel the Plumbers Boots, aside from being a nice little easter egg (I think this is considered an easter egg, it's a Mario reference), isn't very good. It seems good in the beginning, especially against the Armored Heavy, but later on, I dropped it because it was so unneeded and unreliable.

it takes skill to use, and I'll admit, t some extent, it feels useless, but it can definitely serve its purpose if you know when you can jump on an enemy and when it's suicude (Like jumping on a rhino is a dumb move)

Yeah, I thought this was a brilliant perk prior to posting this. It is now showing it's lack of use and I've already swapped it out, but it's a fun little perk that I wouldn't mind using for a laugh. :3
