What weapon/perks do you recommend? using simo with shotgun/sniper atm and unstable core, resilient core and marksman now
thanks for your help so far!
I have to remember, there is a big difference between solo and multiplayer. In solo all perks with fixed DMG numbers as well as corpse (fixed number) are okay, but as soon as you get in multiplayer they are weak. I would alway use DMG perks which increase your own dmg, as because this can raise with your skill. If you use simo i would use smg with sniper, smg to boost the passive then sniper to finish off. If you want to go close there is another class to deal really devasting damage: Haigen. It is really bad again hovers but you can kite with ease. I use there Shotgun with gatling laser, perks: Spraynpray, juxta,Hydra or Phönix.
Unstable core is solo fine, mutli something better. Resilent ever fine, but solo you have lack of perks you can carry so i would use shocking revelation instead. Marksman can be fine, but at all perks like Holoround (33% increase by stats) which increase your base dmg can be better, as because SiMo has already a high base dmg.
EDIT: lol activated record while texting.. I have "the end" on screen. Upload in few seconds.
EDIT2: Here is it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxmKEyLVj3E&feature=youtu.be
To the sense of the video, I uploaded it as because I was doing some Flesh&Steel missions before, and hittet while playing by mistake my record button. I though it could be funny, special for my gamemate to see how we failed.
Oh and a last word to my guide, I dont try to make a guide which is as long as ciaras is, as because in my mind, no "fun" gamer will read all this good stuff. I try to make a short, personal version of a guide as well as it should still be a competition to beat all maps. If I just upload all my mazes, 1: people will always harras, as because they have another maze, 2: They just copy, It shoudnt spoil them. Do it by yourself! You have the knowlege, you can do it...
EDIT: I dont think that you know what you are talking about. 36h arnt enough, also you havnt done anything with 5 FoS yet. May you should take a deeper look into my guide/ciaras guide or just read those post here... It isnt that hard and stop to write just bad things.
The orbital relays i always failed to make them work well enough to make it worth the investment. Do you have any tips on how to use them?

The Slums
Waves: 10
Starting Resources (Solo): 500
Resources Per Wave (Solo): 350
Notable Lumes: Infected Explorers (Plenty), Jumpers (A bunch), Hoverer Queen (1)
Notable Waves: 5, 10
Character Used: Skye/TSYGAN
This map introduces you to another new buddy: The Mutated Explorer. These are your stereotypical zombies, more or less, and they have what essentially amounts to two lives -- dropping their health to zero causes them to drop to the ground and crawl instead of walk, but their health bar fills back up. You have to deplete it again (and you only have a short period of time to do this) in order to actually kill them (and activate Corpse Explosion, if you have it). If you don't re-kill them fast enough, they stand back up and start all over again!
On Normal mode you don't need to go to extreme lengths by using something like a Mind Control tower. Based on your playstyle this can be one of the hardest maps so far or one of the easiest maps in the entire game. Drones and/or the Drone Launcher are highly recommended -- there are quite a few Hoverers, and Wave 5 has Bobbleheads along with a fun-time party of a bunch of other stuff.
With 5 Feats, Wave 5 is notable because it has an absolute butt-ton of Bobbleheads, plus a few Soakers and a bunch of Rhinos. I personally focus on taking out the Bobbleheads first, as I choose not to use a Drone on this map. If you don't have the Drone Launcher (or you just have bad aim), I highly suggest using a Drone or three in place of the MC tower. You could even throw them in front of the Bobbleheads' spawn if you want. It wouldn't hurt.
Wave 10 throws you a Hoverer Queen, plus a smattering of Walker Warriors (ouch), plus some Hoverers...not fun. This is where Drones can help you greatly as well. If you have the Drone Launcher, you should probably be using it on this map with 5 Feats!
In the waves with Jumpers, start the wave by focusing on the non-Jumper Lumes that come out, but keep a close eye on the Jumpers in case they slip through your defenses (which they may, early on). And another thing -- CORPSE EXPLOSION!! This perk works wonders on this map.
Hope this helps. This is, of course, assuming you do not want to take core damage (which should be the case). Some people advocate letting things get to the core but I don't.
When playing solo there simply aren't enough resources to warrant effective use of a Range Spire. With 3 or so it can be OK.
What did you try so far?
i tried combining with mind control so they would bunch up, but it seems to fire somewhere else
Looking forward to your guide!
Alpha/Beta version available? :D
Mind Control? Well, that is surely an interesting choice. It went good for me using Focus towers. If you have Orbital Strike Relay it should make things a lot easier too - yet the placement is a matter of importance regarding that. Unless you understand how that tower works best, I would not recommend that to you due its high costs. Try to master it without feats first otherwise!
The major problem in my opinion is only the sudden Rhino waves, while Infected Explorers can be easily kited. If you are funny you can try Focus towers only - it might give you additional insights.
I suggest Haigen for a solo task due his additional health, with Slowing Presence and Rymdskor. Skye would be also a suitable choice - check if you need Phoenix.
@JohnSheridan, My guide is intended for solo play through both Normal & 5 Feats campaigns, so Corpse Explosion is a solid choice. In the Perks section I explain that it loses effectiveness with more players/in survival.
As far as I'm concerned (and as my guide details), nothing should be making it to your core when playing solo. If Bobbleheads make it to your core solo, you're doing something wrong.
