"The Last Stand" mission: how to end it?

So I completed the campaign, got to the last mission, got to wave 10... and nothing happened. It just keeps going on. I collect this is a survival/horde mode, so I guess it's intentional. But am I missing something? Is there really no way to end this? A button to press, or something?

I'd have liked to see one last comic for the end, at least.

In this map, the game simply continues until the core's destroyed. When the core's destroyed, if you've reached at least wave 11, you'll see the ending cutscene.

Oh wow. That wasn't obvious at all! I got to like wave 17 once before getting bored and just quitting.
