how do i beat this level?
https://youtu.be/uvJeMorcBi8
This also works if your level is high enough:
https://youtu.be/TsRvenuqT_Q
so basically, all my towers either don't attack or do zero damage.
what's the "offical tower" to use against this boss?
i make it to the last wave with many setups, but they all fail at the end.
(never used the makeshift tower so far. what does it do? the description doesn't indicate stunning enemies)
i even put one at the very end and added a range enhancer to it so that the boss would be attacked while floating at the core, but still, nothing happened.
It has a chance on each attack to either stun whatever it hits for a very short to or to misfire, shutting down for a short time. When you put a lot of them, the probabily will generally work in your way (something will be a stun at any given moment), but their damage is mediocre at best, so you'll need something else to compensate and put in work with weapons and tanking the wave.
The last video was really inspirational thanks for that!
Well, you need the range spire tower overcharged to make them work gainst the boss; I am not sure if single player provides enough ressources to make this strategy effective, probably you are right.
I saw a video were it was used, but only one with tinkerer perk and the dmg seemed small and a bit pointless as he was using the drone launcher aswell.
As you say it might work better with range spire and the resources would probably make it unwise.
So, basically, it doesn't solve anything. You still have all the same problems to solve, like juggling between the boss and actual wave and dodging attacks aimed at your back by audio cues and gut feeling. I'd say you're better off bringing ground only towers like Lightning/ACP and doing the boss in yourself with relative safety from the wave.
Suspected it. Cool that you tried it and amazing you beat this map towerless. As I said earlier I went with the drone launcher which solved the boss. No matter how I tried it seemed too hard to juggle although I was close several times. In the end a drone launcher made the last stage trivial, but the way there became harder as a result. Still my best advice for less experienced players.
