Sanctum 2

I NEED HELP, SERIOUSLY. PLEASE!!!!
I`m so scared. I was on the game and saw "oh, last stand has 2 billion and something waves; what would happen if i got to the last?", so i started a game. The game was set to "friends only" and i was the only one in the room. I started cheat engine and tweaked a few credits and bases to have enough to overboost everything and survive. As i put the towers down the game said "cheat has been detected". I closed it.

I went to our saint google and asked the obvious question " will i get VAC banned for it?". The only answer i got was from some devs and players on many boards saying "on single-player it disables the leaderboards, achievements, etc; and on multiplayer it can get you VAC-banned.

The thing is: how do i know if i am playing single or multiplayer as the game always create a session on the servers when you want to play, and , please, will i get banned? Yes? No? Probably? I don`t want to lose all my games just beacuse of my curiosity.

they say VAC bans can taker a few weeks to kick in. Does it warns you right away when you "cheat"?

You dont need cheats for an easy game like sanctum... common bro... :sfsurprise:

i dont think sanctum is even on a vac secure server its so old and not played much they wouldn't use a vac secured server for it. Just go to view - servers - and under filters put in secure servers, and you'll see the list of vac secured servers.

Yeah, but it gets hard AF after the wave 200; let alone getting to the last one of the 2 billion. Anyways, im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself right now. Never cheated in multiplayer and hated cheaters, but had to resort to things like that to satisfy my curiosity, now i'm like this.

I got this discussion from the sanctum 1 forums (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2142918). See the dev comments.

In my opinion, by "single player" they meant "steam in offline mode", so you might be in trouble if you were online on steam. I'm not sure if you'll get vac-banned, sanctum servers aren't protected by vac, but steam might vac ban you regardless of said game having vac-secure servers or not.
I think "cheat has been detected" was just here to warn you that achievements and leaderboards had been disabled.

Still, that would make me worry a lot. But since you're not vac-banned yet (assuming it would show up on your profile), I think you're good to go.

2 Billion waves? Can you even reasonably get to that within your lifetime?
Maelstrom Jan 2, 2017 @ 10:47am
You just need to last 10 waves and then you can keep playing until you lose. But doing some math: ((((2000000000*5)/60)/24)/365)=19026 Years, roughly (keeping that you are the best player in the whole universe and can finish ANY wave at ANY diffuculty in five mins). The number isnt exactly 2 billion, it`s a bit more, but still got my attention.......and now i`m like this.

This game does NOT use VAC, therefore you cannot get VAC banned. If you are in a game where someone (including you) cheats, nothing really happens, except for that single game being excluded from leaderboards etc...

Also I believe that the number you have seen was this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2147483647_(number)

Just a disclaimer tough, if you decide to use cheats, please do so only in your own games, since it can be a mood killer if someones screws your last wave with something like that.
