That refrain sounds distinctly like ♪very, very rich♪ and ♪great, great wall♪, bub... And since I didn't just fall of the turnip truck -- unlike a significant proportion of the voting U.$. -- have you got any proof of your claim...? <_<
Nope
First person games are popular for many, many genres because, aside from aesthetic reasons, it saves developers money on costly animation. Look at the characters in this game (assuming you even own it) - when viewed in co-op, they barely move, just some leg movement and torso jostling when firing. For all your talk of nice 3D models, there's not much to actually look at. Also, third person cameras have problems that first person do not, like colliding with the environment. Doing it one way or the other requires a great deal of coding, doing both tends to look ugly (hence the animation comment) unless it's stick figures like Minecraft.
If field of view is such a problem, there IS a FOV setting. And no, there isn't really platforming in this game. In actual combat the extent of your jumping is avoiding enemy attacks and scaling waist-high walls, do you really need a camera change for such miniscule obstacles? You've got a mini-map that tells you exactly where enemies are at all times, it's not like the camera is blinding you.
And no, disconnects are not a problem, even mid-wave. When someone disconnects their resources are given to the remaining players, and they can immediately rejoin. It can be annoying but it's not a game-ender unless someone DCs at a crucial moment during combat. Not that I've seen any such issues in ages.
Also, what in the flying hell does being a competitive shooter have to do with the camera style? Tons of games in all genres use first person these days - puzzlers, "walking simulators", survival open-world etc. that idea seems remarkably close-minded.
Why else do you think the military have so many grunt meat shields, with star-spangled bandannas restricting blood circulation to their diminutive cerebrae, all frothing at the bit to throw their inutile, crematoria kindling, goyim corpses on I.E.D.'s; just so gold-plated, penthouse perched geriatric profligates and their mail order gold-digging botulinum toxin bimbos can snort coke and trickle down their golden shower economics on the gob-agape masses from their ivory balconies -- because they're playing RTS's and fighting games...?!

My concern lies with those few left who sport a non flat-lining, at least somewhat sinusoidal EEG reading, and who would like to actually see the characters they're controlling in games, not get stuck in buggy environmental geometry, and who do not consider nausea a key constituent to high replay value. That is, their needs being catered to for a change.
So, thanks for the refresher on why so many love crap being served to them by the trough-load, massaged into their dull, cow eyes and then told to be grateful for the honour. However, this not really relevant to the discussion at hand.

Yeah, Sanctum 2 is probably not for you if this is all it takes to turn you off. Go back to whatever game DOES meet your absurd standards.

Forget theses kids, your answer is: no you cant get 3rd person in sanctum.
But if you want the is "Dungeon Defender 2" that is basically the same game but free + micro-transactions. It is 3rd person, and plays in teams of 4 players per games. It also has public lobbies of i dunno, like 20 players where you can sit and wait to find a team or just discuss tactics with the pros.
