Sanctum 2
Any mod / hack / trick to enable THIRD-PERSON
The FP view is nauseating, especially in games requiring long periods of staring, like the TD genre. Moreover, the weapons in this game block a lot of the field of view (inexplicably) and the game has platforming elements -- the literal antithesis of 'disembodied hands' view games.

Now, I know the game does not have a TP view by default (despite having 3D models and not even being a competitive shooter!), but has anyone got a third-person view to work? The game is , right? As such, it should be doable... by someone with the nous to enable it.
(NB: Googled it, but it looks like a chore that non game devs may struggle with... and which I'd lose interest in before I'd bother completing the task.)

I'd pick up both the games in a series (two of each, in fact -- for co-op), IF I could play in third-person.

PS: Why was said play perspective option not included in either game (esp. the sequel) by default, given it's not a "competitive" shooter and that it has nice 3D models (and even shows said models upon death)...? =/

PPS: Does the game still disconnect in MP co-op? I read some feedback a while back of some D/C issues... which is obviously game-breaking in a TD game.

I'm pretty sure there's a guide to enable console commands.
Then just try "thirdperson".

Or read another guide for commands. :Hoxton:

That refrain sounds distinctly like ♪very, very rich♪ and ♪great, great wall♪, bub... And since I didn't just fall of the turnip truck -- unlike a significant proportion of the voting U.$. -- have you got any proof of your claim...? <_<

Not sure why you felt the need to get oddly political. But then, you sound like a real charmer. Nevertheless, let's address your concerns despite the fact that I'll likely only get snark and ignorance for doing so.

First person games are popular for many, many genres because, aside from aesthetic reasons, it saves developers money on costly animation. Look at the characters in this game (assuming you even own it) - when viewed in co-op, they barely move, just some leg movement and torso jostling when firing. For all your talk of nice 3D models, there's not much to actually look at. Also, third person cameras have problems that first person do not, like colliding with the environment. Doing it one way or the other requires a great deal of coding, doing both tends to look ugly (hence the animation comment) unless it's stick figures like Minecraft.

If field of view is such a problem, there IS a FOV setting. And no, there isn't really platforming in this game. In actual combat the extent of your jumping is avoiding enemy attacks and scaling waist-high walls, do you really need a camera change for such miniscule obstacles? You've got a mini-map that tells you exactly where enemies are at all times, it's not like the camera is blinding you.

And no, disconnects are not a problem, even mid-wave. When someone disconnects their resources are given to the remaining players, and they can immediately rejoin. It can be annoying but it's not a game-ender unless someone DCs at a crucial moment during combat. Not that I've seen any such issues in ages.

Also, what in the flying hell does being a competitive shooter have to do with the camera style? Tons of games in all genres use first person these days - puzzlers, "walking simulators", survival open-world etc. that idea seems remarkably close-minded.

I'm well cognisant of single-brain-cell-sharing normies' concupiscence for their disembodied hands re-spawn-athon, brain-rot shooters.

Why else do you think the military have so many grunt meat shields, with star-spangled bandannas restricting blood circulation to their diminutive cerebrae, all frothing at the bit to throw their inutile, crematoria kindling, goyim corpses on I.E.D.'s; just so gold-plated, penthouse perched geriatric profligates and their mail order gold-digging botulinum toxin bimbos can snort coke and trickle down their golden shower economics on the gob-agape masses from their ivory balconies -- because they're playing RTS's and fighting games...?!

My concern lies with those few left who sport a non flat-lining, at least somewhat sinusoidal EEG reading, and who would like to actually see the characters they're controlling in games, not get stuck in buggy environmental geometry, and who do not consider nausea a key constituent to high replay value. That is, their needs being catered to for a change.

So, thanks for the refresher on why so many love crap being served to them by the trough-load, massaged into their dull, cow eyes and then told to be grateful for the honour. However, this not really relevant to the discussion at hand.

Ah. You're one of those types. You know, being verbose doesn't do anything besides make you look pretentious and reveal you for the elitist prick that you are. I notice you did not have anything to say about the bulk of my post either, but there's plenty of inane grandstanding to be had, certainly.

Yeah, Sanctum 2 is probably not for you if this is all it takes to turn you off. Go back to whatever game DOES meet your absurd standards.

Verbosity is subjective, as intelligence is relative... and I've played Sanctum 2 -- that's why I know how lacking a TP option for the game is.

Most of what you say is nonsense. You only talk this way because you want to seem intelligent but in reality you just come off as childish.

Woah, big words that have nothing to do with the topic!
►want to seem smart
►failing to see that one's [false] perception of this, is what creates the dynamic (through one's / your own insecurity)

someone ask a question, then the kids show up and start a war about nothing and in the end no one answers the question.

Forget theses kids, your answer is: no you cant get 3rd person in sanctum.
But if you want the is "Dungeon Defender 2" that is basically the same game but free + micro-transactions. It is 3rd person, and plays in teams of 4 players per games. It also has public lobbies of i dunno, like 20 players where you can sit and wait to find a team or just discuss tactics with the pros.
