In Chapter 3, who kills Shogo if he turns around and looks at Yoko while talking to Takumi? Only curse bearers can use the curses, and Takumi is not a curse bearer.

well, he looks exactly like someone killed by a curse - stiff pose, white eyes, drooling. of course, one can say that takumi had some serum that mimicked effects of a curse, or whatever, but come on, it's clear that they just kept throwing stuff in, not bothering about details or having ends meet.

Are you talking about how Shogo dies later? That's completely unrelated.

ok, that might be true. what kills him in the branch that i was talking about then? i think this is when he decides to actually use the rite. and if takumi is fine with killing people the old-fashioned way, why doesn't he kill the rest (unless he knows that curse stones can only be used by the original owner, in which case why kill shogo, or bother about the stones at all)

Assuming he saves Yoko, she later goes on to just kill him with the curse stone she had all along. We know that because he drowned (the storyteller says as such in the accidental 'spoiler' near the beginning). Shogo never got the curse stone in that case, so it must have been her at any point

hmm, i think there's a path where yoko dies, shogo collects the needed souls, but as soon as he decides to use them to resurrect yoko (which was his intention all along), he dies in a curse-like manner. that's how shogo's story ended for me the first time, and only after that the storyteller said that it was possible to save yoko.

The part that confuses me is Yoko herself.

Shogo was extremely clear that she was VERY DEAD.

But if so, who the hell killed her? And seemingly with the curse stone he took for himself. And I don't remember her turning around and running away from anyone so... how would that curse have triggered???
