Professor Layton series is really good but also old and for the Nintendo
The cosmic Wheel sisterhood is amazing but slightly different genre
I also really like The Red Strings Club but its short
Games I've never played:
The Zero Escape series is supposedly good but I've never played it myself
I'm guessing Phoenix Wright would be up your alley?
Similar horror vibes in the Spirit Hunter visual novels though if you want something like that again.
EDIT: Also AI SOMNIUM FILES is very good, lots of mystery, intrigue and twists.
I will even more tentatively recommend Sekimeiya: The Spun Glass
The Letter is a Visual Novel with multiple protagonist POVs and many branching points in the story, that is also focused on an urban legend curse horror story. It's personally my favourite visual novel of all time.
Tokyo Dark and Killer Frequency too, though the gameplay of each of those is a bit different (especially Killer Frequency).
If you want to go full point-and-click investigation, check out the Wadjet Eye catalogue. Lots of fantastic games there, like the Blackwell series, Unavowed, and many more.
