"Too Much To Handle" chapter stuck?? (spoilers!!)

I sent the fax and have gone with Richter to Ho'onji and he keeps mentioning something changed, but they won't go rescue Mayu? I also already had Yakko and Mio try to go into the soap building twice and can't seem to figure out how to progress past this point. Help pleaaase

Someone else mentioned having a similar issue in another thread but I already had Mayu find the bird sticker and have the memory. There's no section for Tsutsumi after he and Erio decide to go into the school (according to the guides I think it's called "Manhunt"? It has not unlocked for me).

Never mind, I figured it out: I missed exactly one conversation with Richter in the park after Ayame ran off. Once I did that, "Manhunt" unlocked

Thank you so much! This was driving me crazy, especially because I got stuck here on a second playthrough. It really seems like the game needs to do a better job in certain places signposting required conversations.

I'm stuck too! Thing is I got Manhunt to unlock after having that one conversation with Ritcher you mentioned, but after completing it no new chapter got unlocked...

You begin your post by mentioning the use of the fax so I stopped reading, but I can't use it and proceed with the game :L

I agree with epsilon, the game is severely lacking clear indication. Getting stuck like this shouldn't be possible

Edit: I had missed the little fire in the Ho'Onji bridge location, close to a tree

Darn, I’m also on switch, but I’ve got the fax and the fire on the bridge (finished Manhunt already) but it won’t let me end the Darkness chapter T_T

I also got stuck, but for me what solved it;
if you've done absolutely everything you can in Darkness and Too Much To Handle chapters, there should be a new development when you resume "Mio's chapter" (visit Hihaku soaps).
