it has to compete with Tabletop Simmulator and Foundry after all
BUT User generated content will be at the core of RPG stories.
Please stay tuned in the upcoming weeks...
Haven't stated this officially anywhere yet but indeed Workshop is going to be a huge part of this!
I also want to suggest an idea for another way to handle 2d tokens that are just art/image/portrait rather than a strict 3d model or top-down roll20 style token.
It views as 3d, with a small circle/base at the bottom. Extruding vertically from this circle/base is the image/art/portrait that always looks to the direction the player's camera is.
The circle/base has an arrow dictating which direction the token is facing.
If you are familiar with the 3D mod for FoundryVTT you may be familiar with this.
That way, if you do not have top-down tokens and no 3d models, you can just plug in art/portraits.
We are currently working on the multiplayer and adding more character models, so we can not give a date yet for this feature. But the import feature is definitely in our plans for the next months.
About your 2D tokens suggestion, yes this is exactly what we want to do, we love this idea :)
