R-click Game - Properties - Controller
Did you bother reading my original post? I specifically stated that my own issues have been tested with all three steam input settings.
Beyond this, the default steam input setting DOES NOT apply the input overlay to official xbox controllers, and the generic controller setting in steam input explicitly says "set by developer" - meaning the devs messed with the steam input settings.
Every other driving game I've seen on steam works fine with steam input.
No idea why you're recommending to people what I specifically stated does not work in my original post.
Steam Input is disabled for xbox controllers and enabled for "generic" controllers. I *believe* both of them are "xbox" controllers.
The point is, my "xbox" controller doesn't work on default settings (steam input off), doesn't work on forced steam input off (for everything, including generic controllers), and doesn't work on forced steam input on (for everything, including xbox controllers).
