Is the game that bad?
Score is mixed but I'm curious - is it because the game is bad, or are all the negative reviews from hard-code Mudrunner/Snowrunner fans?

Probably both... but give it 24 hours for things to settle and more reviews to come it. I guess it will go up at least a bit.

I am still undecided if i buy now, or wait for hard mode.

I find that Steam review scores always hit the spot with games.

I haven't encountered any bugs so far. It's more arcady than Snowrunner but I found it very enjoyable so far.

its called roadcraft and the road building is its USP and also terrible
stuff mudrunner/snowrunner spintires is better

So glad spintires 2 (spintires X working title) is in the works. Saber needs competition to get their ♥♥♥♥ together. They slack off too much.

I played with a friend for 3 hours now and we had a lot of fun completing the missions and building our first "roads" :D
It's physics feels a little weird sometimes but I think they will work on that.

Oh and the AI is ruthless, if you are in their way, they will straight up honk at you and dont leave their path just a millimeter, it's pretty fun tho :D

Some design decisions are, let's put it gently, "questionable". Also optimization is zero, the demo was what we got (i.e. stutterfest).

I've played for 10 minutes and already had a lot of frustration with performance, features (or lack thereof), and one bug where it shot me half a mile into the sky for going off the road slightly. Game wasn't ready for release and will probably flop worse than Expeditions.

ALL WE WANT IS SNOWRUNNER 2 - meaning, yes, add these extra gameplay elements and activities that are in RC and Exp, but don't make a WORSE game than Snowrunner and just expect to skate by because you told fans to not expect Snowrunner. Why not give the fans what they want? If they were Metallica, this would be the second St. Anger in a row.

I know that it wouldnt be snowrunner since I played the demo.
But managing the dumb AI trucks is just boring and annoying and adds nothing to the game except a reason why you have to build roads in the first place. Otherwise they are barely needed since driving is so much easier compared to Snowrunner.

Weird take given that this is their 3rd subsequent release since Spintires and they've released what, like 16 seasons for SnowRunner now?

My biggest problem is with their design, not their work ethic. The drop-in multiplayer lacks shared progression which I find unsatisfying, and not being able to tweak actual gameplay settings between just choosing normal/hard modes is too.

Why have so many interesting options for vehicles and parts, only for hard mode to be so restrictive with money that you can really only afford to try one or two new decent vehicles per region? I want the additional challenge, but it feels overly restrictive and just ends up putting me off from playing more.

It is a good game if you don't go in with Mud/Snowrunner preconceptions. I can understand people asking for more hardcore features which hopefully the devs will address.

From what I am reading most of the bad reviews are due to game crashes from bad NVIDIA drivers that need an update. I can understand paying out $40 you don't want to see this but having a little patience isn't a bad thing. For me it says Steam Deck playable so I'm going to wait a few days get more details before buying it or not.

i'm on the fence because it looks a bit more meant for younger people, i mean theres too many markers and things that pop up trying to hold your hand, I would have preferred like more of a playground do what you want where you want and how you want instead of something must go here or here and nowhere else works, other than that the graphics looks really nice and so are the sounds but guess i'll wait a bit and see if anything convinces me otherwise.

Some people have crashes, some people have framerate problems or artifacts, some people have trouble getting their controller or wheel to work.

Maybe I'm lucky or maybe they're doing something wrong, I'm playing everything full ultra without DLSS nor frame gen at flawless Vsync cap on an ancient 3060 TI with a ps4 controller ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ everything works out of the gate and without any problem

On forums people have been annoyed by different direction compared to Snowrunner, but everyone already settled on that after demo months ago
