Request to Developers for next patch: Please Fix Mouse Mechanics for Accessibility
Hi devs, I’m reaching out with a sincere request about RoadCraft’s current mouse mechanics, which unfortunately make the game unplayable for many disabled players who rely on adaptive technology.

For example, some disabled players use eye-tracking devices, switch inputs, or virtual remapping tools that simulate gamepad and keyboard inputs through alternative means. In my case, I use a Tobii eye tracker, switch access, and a program called AltController. AltController lets me map buttons, analog sticks, and mouse actions to eye gaze and switches but it relies heavily on being able to move the mouse freely and interact with overlays outside the game window.

Right now, RoadCraft is missing several key options that were present in SnowRunner and that game was fully accessible to disabled players like me due to its compatibility with our adaptive control hardware and software. Without similar flexibility in RoadCraft, the game is currently unplayable for many in our community.

Mouse-Related Accessibility Fixes We’re Requesting:

1. Camera Movement Should Require Holding a Mouse Button
Currently, the in-game camera moves constantly with the mouse. This is a major issue for players using eye tracking, where the pointer is always active and naturally moves around the screen. In SnowRunner, the camera only moved when holding a mouse button (like left-click), allowing for precise, intentional control.

Request: Please add an option to only move the camera when holding a mouse button. This should be toggleable in the settings so each player can use the method that works best for them.

2. Add a Setting to Disable Mouse Cursor Lock
When the game launches, the mouse is trapped inside the game window. This causes problems for players who rely on external assistive tools or overlays to manage inputs and control layers. SnowRunner allowed full cursor movement, even in fullscreen mode, which made it much more accessible.

Request: Please add a setting or launch flag to disable cursor lock. Let players choose whether to keep the cursor contained or free, based on their needs.

3. Add a Visible In-Game Mouse Cursor
Gameplay footage shows that RoadCraft does not include a visible mouse cursor during gameplay. This is a serious barrier for eye-tracking users who need to see where they’re pointing in order to interact with menus or the game world.

Request: Please include a toggleable visible cursor in the options menu so players who rely on it can enable it, and others can turn it off if preferred.

Why This Matters
These may seem like small settings, but they have a huge impact on whether disabled players with limited or no mobility can play the game at all. SnowRunner set a great example by offering these features and it made the game enjoyable and accessible for a much broader range of players.

The key is giving us options. By making these features toggleable, you ensure that everyone disabled or not can customize the experience to fit how they play.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. We truly hope these accessibility improvements can be added in a future update so that more of us can enjoy everything RoadCraft has to offer.

+1 Honestly couldn't put it better, although Tobii already has an on screen gaze indicator, so they might not add #3. But man I wish more games had #2.
