PSA / Feature Request: Mobile Scalper
The mobile scalper in it's current state only works on map generated sand and not on sand that the player places. On most maps this means that it's only real use is to skip paying fuel to activate quarries.

IMO you should be able to create a patch of sand with a dump truck/dozer and then setup the mobile scalper on it. As a trade off you could require the patch of sand needed to activate the scalper larger so that it requires more effort to setup, or just leave it the same and let us have sand where we want it easily. Alternatively, you could add another variant of the scalper without the sand requirement that makes gravel then sand anywhere.

Edit: I probably shouldn't have said 'most maps' as I have yet to play 3 of the maps so have no idea how useful it is likely to be on them. I assume this vehicle is amazing on the desert map, for instance.

There is sand in other places. I watched a video on it. A guy found a tiny patch of sand near some water, and it worked. It was the size of a small truck, but it worked. Like there is tiny spots of sand on the map if you keep your eyes open just I never looked for them so I can't think of any off hand but I seen some, just never cared because I can't use the mobile sand quarry

I'm currently on Deluge, and the small patches of sand on river banks or chasms haven't worked for me. I haven't been able to find anywhere that isn't already a quarry on this specific map, at least not yet. I find it to be mostly useless on this map, and there is a lot of road that I would like to build but don't really want to drive back and forth constantly. I'm currently trying to use it to do the side mission that gives 8 gas for paving two roads to the dam but I only just parked it at the quarry and haven't tested it's range yet. I have a feeling the AI isn't going to be able to use it and I'll have to manually pour this road if I want to do it this way.

I haven't played the last 3 maps, the other two options besides deluge or the last one, so I can't speak to those yet. However I personally feel like building roads, especially flat wider ones, takes a very long time by yourself. Being able to reposition a mobile quarry would help relieve a lot of the pain of making roads outside of quarry range. I don't think this would take away from the gameplay and for anyone opposed to the idea could just not use the vehicle, or place it in more realistic positions.

I haven't gone back to play the earlier maps since unlocking the vehicle yet so maybe it's more useful there. And of course there is a map that is a desert so it's probably amazing on that map once I get to it. I'll see if I can find that video, maybe I missed something obvious.
