xbox controller not working tried all the tips. works without problems on all other games I play

I use an xbox 360 and it works fine. Could this be a setting in Steam?

I heard turning the Steam Overlay off works, not sure if its for all players though.

i refunded the game, For $50 if i cant just plug in and play then no thanks

The development team is currently working on solving this problem. A possible workaround for this issue until the fix is ready is to Disable Steam Input.
