Routes stop working after a while
Most routes I make work a couple times, then I get an error (always because of convoys getting stuck on mud tracks or some rocks). I then redo the road slightly, avoiding the obstacle, and it will work once or twice before getting an error again.

Is there a way to deal with mud tracks? I often make them with the bulldozer trying to push small rocks out of the way, making the problem much worse.

Also, is there a point of keeping the routes active once you've got all the rewards? I removed them since the errors were annoying.

Usually AI gets stuck because they run the same route meaning they deepen tracks into mud on every pass. In muddy terrain you can dump sand then flatten it into a makeshift stronger road.

Or keep adjusting the route until the rewards are done and then cancel the route, your call as a player

You can later put sand down and eliminate the mud ruts. If the route has the reward, I don't worry about it and cancel it.
Also, just remember that the AI trucks are actually pretty stupid. Most of the time they don't follow the route that you lay out exactly, But they also don't actively avoid obstacles. If they keep having trouble at a specific spot, I suggest;
1, Checking the map and seeing if you can spot/route around the problem
2, Driving a grader out to the area and pushing obstacles out of the way.
2b, You can use the grader in sand smoothing mode to carefully push rocks off the road. Just go slowly so they don't fall under the blade.

just build the solid road bro. AI construction available only for the tasks completion, so you have to do it manually btw. Enjoy the game

Gotta do maintenance to the routes, they get beat up.
