But yeah another reason to fight against such poorly designed games...
Seems to break Eu law, EU data collection laws, particularly the GDPR, emphasize user consent and provide individuals with the right to opt-out of data processing. This means users can refuse to have their personal data collected, used, or shared for specific purposes. The GDPR requires explicit consent for most data processing activities, and users can withdraw their consent at any time. I haven't purchased and wont be supporting scummy practices like this.
(Un)fortunately you can, it is in the main options menu somewhere in the middle. So as much as I would like them to have f'd up, unfortunately they are doing "no wrong" here. You just remove yourself from multi-player, won't matter in a few weeks time anyway when the player base will be dead.
TLDR : you can play solo even if you refuse to share your data.
