Can I get a +1 from everyone who wants a mode with fuel and damage enabled?

I want a SnowRunner experience with road building and all the depth this game offers. The current demo feels way too simplified, and I don't want that complexity to be lost. I get that many people enjoy the more casual approach, but please give us a hard mode—an iron man mode—where fuel matters and damage is real.

If they end up adding a hard mode to the game, it's going to be half-baked and unbalanced just like in Snowrunner. Something tells me that adding meaningful difficulty to a game designed to be easier is more difficult than the alternative.

For whatever reason, they just don't seem to realize that a large chunk of their playerbase wants a more challenging experience.

Absolutely! Games should be designed around hard difficulty in the first place and then its easy to dumb it down if required. But it never works well other way.

I took to editing my save file in Notepad to get the difficulty I wanted. No free fuel (especially at garages), no free repairs, no selling trailers etc. but skippable night time as it drags on too long and doesn't really add anything to the experience as we have no deadlines.
I wonder if that'd work well enough for me as well, I wish they'd given us more control over the difficulty aside from two binary options.

I felt like the game lacked any real consequence without having to pay for fuel, repairs or vehicle recovery/travel. While hard mode solves that, it's also very restrictive on monetary reward and the costs of things—there's barely any room to try new vehicles and parts without wasting what little money you've managed to save while trying to invest into specific needs.

+1 this was the main challenge in mudrunner/snowrunner and this is what im missing in roadcraft. Its to easy when you have unlimited fuel.

Did you even pay attention playing the demo?
There will be some kind of fuel mechanic. As suggested by the purple jerrycan icon in the top right.
Does not seem to be doing anything in the demo, but pretty sure it ain't there for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.

The fuel is needed to reset stuck vehicles, it does mention that during the demo...
