A 5 fps slideshow on 1650 Super
This demo is a 5 fps slideshow on my 1650 Super. My cpu was just fine at less than 20%, yet my gpu was pegged at 100%! Serious game optimization is needed for this game to run on the 4th most popular video card according to the Steam Hardware Survey. Only 3060 and 4060 cards are more popular.

If it runs this bad on a 1650, don't even think about running it on a Steam Deck...

You using 1080p? That is the primary focus to get the best result with these one.
1080p, 720p, it doesn't matter. I even tried using both the TAA and FSR setting. Still a slideshow. I can play Forza Horizon 5 and Out of Ore with 60 fps locked (currently using a 60fps tv as a monitor).

You're kidding right? Did you read the minimum requirements?

Minimum (720P 30 FPS Lowest Settings)
Ryzen 5 1500X / I7-4790
RX Vega 64 / GTX 1660
8GB RAM

You don't meet the minimum...

More people have 1650s than 1660s, according to Steam's own Hardware Survey for January. 1650 at 3.56% vs 1660 at 0.73%.
According to the Roadcraft store page, it only requires a 1060, not a 1660.

Graphics: 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060

And that matters how? Developers can make a product to run on whatever they want, they don't have to make it run on a card that's half a decade old if they don't want to.

Besides it doesn't matter if the 1650 is the number 4 most used, what matters is the percentage of overall video cards used.

For example of the top 10, the 1650 is the only card from the 10xx series. If you combine the percentage of all the other top 9, it makes up a total market share of 33.95%. If you're a business which are you going to cater to? 3.64% of the market, or 33.95%?

https://community.focus-entmt.com/focus-entertainment/roadcraft/blogs/160-roadcraft-faq

Scroll to the bottom of the FAQ;

What are the recommended and minimum specs?

Minimum: 720p 30 fps low setting

AMD Ryzen 5 1500X + RX VEGA 64 8Gb + 8Gb RAM

Intel Core i7-4790 + GeForce GTX 1660 6GB + 8 Gb RAM

Recommended: 1080p 60 fps medium setting

AMD Ryzen 5 5600x + Radeon RX 6600 XT

Intel Core i7-9700KF + NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 + 12Gb RAM
That's odd. I guess whoever wrote the FAQ wasn't on the same page as the person who wrote up the Steam page.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3456580/RoadCraft_Demo/

Minimum:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / Intel Core i3-12100
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 6 GB VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
Storage: 58 GB available space

Oh well. All I know is, it'll definitely need some fixing to get on Steam decks and systems that don't run higher power cards. Even Snowrunner runs at a smooth 60fps on my system. And that's with and without mods.

The GTX 1650 only has 4GB VRAM so that might be why. It's lower in performance than the GTX 1060 too: 78% according to TechPowerUp's relative performance chart.
I think I'll just wait till they get their first patch out for the fully released game. Saber and Focus Interactive tend to have a good track record with their games IMO. If it still needs something better, I might upgrade to a 2080 or something.

So the GTX 1650 is about 25% slower than an GTX 1060, the 1660 is faster. Upgrade your GPU. I have a <700 laptop with an RTX 3050 that runs circles around that 1650. It doenst have to be expensive. You can probably get an upgrade for about 80 euro on the second hand market.
stop trying to run it in 4k on a 1650 super
