On break rooms and coffee shops
Dear Corporate,
It is now my fifth attempt at starting a franchise, the previous ones dismantled in their infancy by unusually aggressive police officers. I won't bore you with the details, I'd imagine other franchises have given complaint enough.
In my latest venture, I found the director's office set up for me as usual. I searched the franchise location, and found most of it quite to my liking. There was a sewer entrance just off the main building to assist with... less-than-photogenic research topics, and the police station with its pharmaceutical-hating enforcers was all the way across the map from my working facilities. The only thing farther away was... the Mike's Coffee.
I was displeased.
This wasn't a crippling issue; the sewer beneath contained a 2x1 room in which I could place a Staff Lounge (as the room is too large to fit into any aboveground building for some reason) once Director Coleman cleared out the rifle-wielding gangsters. The problem was, the room isn't available until after the first consumer drug is researched. And research took a long while.
To give some perspective, I shadowed my doctor as she stepped out of the office for a break. She left at around 21:30. The walk took her all the way across town (thankfully the police were still having their own coffee and didn't bother her) and back. She returned to the office at 0730, missing half her stamina already from the sprint there, and worked for an hour or two before the exhaustion claimed her and she had to retreat to the Sleeping Area.
Ten hours.
To get a coffee.
The amount of man-hours lost to the placement of the office relative to the coffee-shop was enough to make me miss the shootouts with the police. I am still hemorrhaging money, as my staff are unable to do any work before their stamina depletes. I request a change in corporate policy for the benefit of future franchises. Either:
1) Altering the Construction Department's tasking to allow the Manager to place the Director's office personally.
2) Changing the policy to allow for the creation of Staff Lounges right off the bat.
and/or
3) Having Endswell R&D conceive of a Staff Lounge that only takes up a 1x1 space. I'm sure the staff would be willing to sacrifice some efficiency for the convenience of having coffee in the building.

I too have encountered this issue and i find it rather perplexing that such an option to create a simple 1x1 room within the confines of our establishments quite something,

What you have laid out as a proposal certainly befits the corporations status and would alleviate some of our consumable, sorry, Staff break taking issues even if we had to restrict it to one 1x1 per location, so in the spirit of cooperation i offer you a +1 to your letter.
