Captain's Inn
My only quest atm is to build a ship. I've built a shipyard, I have the necessary supplies. I need to build a Captain's Inn, which says they can only be built on Captain's Inn wreckages. I have no wreckages. Thus I cannot build the Inn to get the Captain to build the ship.

What am I missing (beyond the obvious sarcastic answer)?

you can build a ship, without a captain. the part where you select a captain at the shipyard, can just be left blank, and then you can continue to build the ship

Although also, is there a place you prefer we report bugs? I also can't upgrade to tier 1 housing. My population actually cuts in half rather than doubles. I thought I was seriously failing the tutorial until I realized what was happening, lol.

oh snap, yeah, i just noticed that as well. I just naturally thought that you wouldn't be required to assign a captain, since many islands DON'T have the captain resource.... well, I think that's an issue, because if you don't have the captains on your island AND you can't go capture another island with the ships you start with, then you're screwed. And I don't know where the devs want bugs to be reported, but you could just post it here on the steam forum maybe

Thanks for the help! I thought you were with the dev team lol

@Zayven Have you found a solution? I ham having the same issue. I cannot build a ship without a Captains' Inn, and I don't have the wreck of a previous inn. Or did I possibly build over the old inn?

I found it! It's hidden in the forest. I can't seem to post a screenshot, but if you look at your small coastline head on, with the water at the bottom, the inn is to the northeast (upper right) in the forest behind the big rocks.

This is not true. Are you giving advice without playing the game?

Hi! So your starting island in both campaign and freeplay modes will always have a captain's inn spot, it's a specific node/location where you need to place the building. There are also some production buildings such as the clay quarry that will require placement on a specific clay 'node'. These spots are much rarer and only appear on certain islands. If you use the tactical map and hover over an island you can see which ones have additional captain's inn spots and rare resources available.

Just to highlight that this is incorrect and you do require an available captain before you can finish constructing a ship ;)

I recounted my comment right after. I made the mistake of thinking that the game would be logical, and allow a ship to sail with only a crew, but i was mistaken. I thought that there wouldn't be limitations on the amount of ships you could have either.

can only be built on Captain's Inn wreckages.

This is actually super misleading and I had same issue in demo. This so called 'wreckage' is actually a small landmark on land / island and not in the water.

Actually, your mistake was offering advice for a game you didn't even play. You had no business making that comment.

lol. you high? don't get high and make nonsense comments on the internet bro

Gratuitously false assumptions aren't a respectful way to get attention. When offered as advice, I'm not sure it's naivety or poorly veiled instigation.
