Cheating in 3x3 toggle switch puzzle

I've encountered this seemingly simple puzzle a couple of times already but was only solve it twice. If you manage to turn off all of the switches the solution is 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Change to 3x3, Click Edit, Match your puzzle, Click Solve, Enjoy your prize, move onto the next room.

Or you could of played Zelda Links Awakening DX before and just understand how a basic switch puzzle works.

My usual solution is to screw around until I get only a single edge and adjacent corner lit up, the from there it's two more buttons to a solution (assuming 1 and 2 are the lights, 6 and 7). At least once, the puzzle was already in the necessary configuration when I entered the room.

You realise the starting position is randomized, yeah?
