Hm, I've never taken it for that very reason thinking it was some awful one use thing in exchange for my vital life force. I may try taking it next time I see it (if there's nothing better that is.)

To me, Silver Compass is the second best blood relic ... the only one better is the Drill.
Trivializes curses if you have consistent healing ... but make sure to stock up on keys.

Huh,... is that what it does. I've NEVER took it thinking it was a one off pop. It never made sense for that amount of HP, and I just assumed it was a "last resort" style of thinking.

I think it should read

Silver Compass: Every regular combat room is guaranteed to have either a chest or a statue.

That would be the most clear to me.

Ohhhhhh, the current verbage makes it seem like its a one-off, then the relic is gone. Thank you, I've been avoiding it for that reason!

I feel like that phrasing is redundant, youve added an extra word that can have multiple meanings.
If you want clarity, i would go for something more like "Always spawns a chest or statue where available."

But then again, i dont think anything is wrong with the original text. Seems like people are thinking about what its saying, instead of what it doesnt say. Like, it doesnt say anything about single use, or have any kind of warnings.

Make it clear it's not an single use item, make sure you know it is an effect happening in any normal combat room.

The change of phrasing OP suggested doesn't change anything. The issue lies in allowing the player to interpret it in multiply ways.

Why is there the need to make sure its clear? No other items that dont go away say anything, and the item that does go away tells you. So its already given you plenty of reason to believe that if it doesnt say anything, then its going to stay.
And none the less, it only takes trying it out once to tell.

So assuming it applies all the time: why are there no chests in shop rooms? the boss rooms?
Huh?

Amazing logic you got there.

No: the relic has a misleading wording which is not even correct when you want to get technical with it. Nowhere it says it only applies for normal battle rooms for example.

The translation/wording is wrong.

You picked one part of my comment and then turned your brain off.

Because its not available there, duh.
Seriously, whats your damage??

Even without trying it out, I assumed that it meant "future rooms" rather than "the next room". There's no way they would put that kind of cost on the effect as translated, so we assume they are bad at English rather than bad at game balance.
