How rare are weapon upgrade materials ?

So as in souls should we hoard them for weapon we like ( or just stick with some of the early options and upgrade them ) or are the materials common and easy to farm so we can experiment with weapons ?

I think you don't farm materials as there is a limited number of them BUT any materials you put into a weapon can be "taken out" and used on another weapon. Upgrading costs currency that you're not gonna get back but once you pick up an upgrade material you basically have it forever and it can be reused to upgrade other weapons. At 2 hours I had plenty of basic upgrade materials so I think the idea is that you can have 3-4 upgraded weapons you can switch on between Masks too. I think same thing goes for Masks and Lines, but I've only played for 2 hours so far.

you can get materials back but as soon as a weapon is fully upgraded (+10) this refund doesn't work anymore. kinda weird, don't know if it is a bug or not.
later on, there is a merchant that sells upgrade materials, some of them in limited quantity. but it is still enough to upgrade a lot of weapons. upgrade prices are high though.
