I tried to do some testing on "blocking" and it seems parry gem does not really mitigate any damage compared to just simply getting hit. This is based just on my observation but I simply did not notice any noticeable difference when hit straight and blocking.

The wording on Magnus Opus parry gem seems to suggest this gem can parry all types of damage but has smaller parry window. I tried it on few enemies and did not notice much difference in terms of damage mitigation and felt the parry was harder to pull off--this might be just my bias as I have no way to determine how much or if at all the parry window is shorter.

My understanding is

1. Perfect parry + right type of gem mitigates all damage. For eg. Perfect parry with the Physical gem mitigates all physical damage while still letting through a bit of other damage types.

2. You can use this gem to perfect parry all types of attacks - physical, magical etc. but with shorter frames so you have to be really good at perfect parries.

3. Regular parries (blocking) - My understanding is they do mitigate some damage, For eg. Arlecchino phase 3 when he goes up and shoots those bolts. If you simply block you’ll take a lot of damage but you’ll still be alive as opposed to not blocking at all in which case you’ll die.

The lasers can be dodged.
The secret last boss could be defeated before even with the healing song on base game, but even more so now that it doesn't heal.
To reiterate, you haven't been doing perfect parries.

I suspect the play testers were far more skilled than the players than us.

Don't be smart, and you don't have to respond to everything, I decide what to post and not you and we are play testers but I guess you don't understand that

I see. The Steam discussion is just a place for you to rant about things and you don't actually want to improve on anything.

It's a shame we all wasted our time when all you were looking for was an echo chamber and looking to misunderstand anything and everything about the game.
