♥ Entrenched in history.

When I was younger my dream was to dedicate my life to being like Indiana Jones. I wanted to uncover tombs and find lost skulls, a dream that guided me to studying ancient Egypt.

I played this game shortly afterwards and fell in absolute love with it. When I saw it in my library yesterday I decided to replay it and was filled with nostalgia at the history it covers! Absolutely wonderful.

♥ Filled with diversity.

In Tomb of the Lost Queen you have a variety of characters with different outlooks, personalities, and ethnicities. Her Interactive branched out with their character design, a fact much appreciated by the game, and by me. I liked how diverse the characters were though all, aside from Bess and nancy, were united by their sharp snarkiness.

♥ Great graphics!

Despite my love of older Nancy Drew games, I've been turning into a sucker for pretty graphics. I'm glad to see that they're moving to improving the graphics in the game, though I doubt a day will ever come when we see Nancy, and I'm pleased they're doing so. It provides a trip to Egypt for free....at least it feels that way! ' p '

✘ Nancy's voice...

and dialogue seemed a bit lacking compared to other games in the series. At times it sounded like Nancy was voiced by an entirely different person (Or is it just me?). Her dialogue fell a bit flat, especially in the emotional department, and paled in comparison to the dialogue provided by other characters.

Nancy shouldn't be outshined in her own game!

✘ At times the direction is unclear.

It seemed as if at times I was left without any clue which way to go. Whether this was by design, I know not, however I wish that there were more instructions provided. Using the hint hotline proved to be less than helpful, the new system of clicking hints underneath each task in the newer games is a lot more effective.

✘ Aliens.

Yick. It does tie in well with the history and legends surronding ancient Egypt yet personally I despise the very topic of aliens and wish to play Nancy Drew without encountering tin foil hat wearing characters.

Overall Nancy Drew: Tomb of the Lost Queen is as difficult as it is fascinating. A lovely addition to the Nancy Drew series and despite its flaws, I don't think anyone who plays it will regret doing so.

Tomb of the Lost Queen is probably my third least favorite Nancy Drew game behind The Shattered Medallion and Midnight in Salem. I wouldn't recommend this game if you are new to Nancy Drew, but if you're a fan looking to complete your collection, it's a decent purchase if it's on sale.

I like challenging puzzles, but the puzzles in this game are beyond frustrating. In Nancy Drew games, challenging puzzles can either be rewarding to solve or downright infuriating. Tomb of the Lost Queen's puzzles fall into the latter category. In my most recent play through as a senior detective, I really made an effort to not use hints and to not use outside resources to solve the puzzles. I gave up about halfway through and started using a walkthrough to help me understand what the game even wanted me to do. I wouldn't call any of the puzzles or activities of the game fun, either.

The characters are bland and forgettable. You spend a ridiculous amount of time on the phone and talking to characters, and most of the time, you learn nothing from it. I felt like most conversations were the same thing over and over again.

It's really easy to get stuck in this game, too. The game often wants you to find something specific item in an area that you already explore earlier in the game, which is annoying. Running around looking for something gets really tiring.

Overall, Tomb of the Lost Queen isn't a terrible game. The atmosphere is beautiful and fun to explore, and it feels more like an adventure game than most Nancy Drew games. But I just can't look past the agonizing puzzles that purposely misdirect you, the wild-goose chase of trying to figure out what to do next, and sleep-inducing conversations.

I love all the games in the nancy drew series, so my first verdict is going to be a bit biased. this is a point and click casual adventure game, so I would not recommend this game to any serious gamers who only play triple A titles. That being said, I also enjoy triple A title games as well, but also really love the nancy drew series for everything it has to offer in every game in the series. the things I appreciate the most about ND games that I dont see alot in other games is the presence of a mystery plot that you have to solve, and deductive and reasoning skills needed. the lost queen setting is very well done and incorporates lots of historical relevence into the puzzle and plot. the area of exploration is a bit small but otherwise I have no complaints about this game, one of the better games in the series, really enjoyed it. I have seen better plots in the series though. 7/10 from my biased view, but from the view of a mainstream gamer, 6/10

I think this one is a bit of a miss, It's frustrating and many of the puzzles are downright obtuse, like worse than usual, I when I looked up hints I didn't feel stupid for not getting it myself, I felt angry that the answer was so ridiculous. The setting is...a choice, it's a nitpick but they try to crack jokes about colonialism-bad but they kinda fall flat as Nancy goes around an archaeological site and just pockets things and messes with ancient artifacts, Nancy being a klepto is usually funny and a harmless character trait, but this time it's just weird, like why is she here? she's not qualified for this, she shouldn't be allowed to run around and desecrate someone's tomb like this. Also I can't call Ned??? wtf

A great puzzle-solving game!! I've been playing Nancy Drew since the very beginning, and this is just another spectacular entry in the series. Loved playing in the Egyptian setting!

This is a solid adventure game with a very interesting subject: Ancient Egypt. I enjoyed the hieroglyphic translation puzzles and the storyline kept my interest as well. The artwork is quite good and felt like I was back in the Valley of the Kings again. This game is enjoyable for adults as well as kids, although some of the dialog is a bit tedious. One thing I liked is that they don't force you to do the typical "job" like some of the other games in this series, so you can just focus on the mystery at hand.

Every Nancy drew game always do their research on each location and that's awesome to know they're dedicated to their fans like this including adding real photographs of people

Fun story with challenging puzzles

This Nancy Drew game is very difficult. A lot of the puzzles are challenging, and you have to use too many references to solve them. There aren't any hints from Bess or anyone else. Because you're in an Egyptian tomb, the environment is very busy, as in a lot of hieroglyphics everywhere, therefore it's hard to catch hotspots.

Overall, this is a good game. Good storyline, good characters, great graphics. It's just a difficult one to solve. I especially recommend this game for the people who are interested in this kind of stuff and are up for the challenge.

I have been playing Nancy Drew games for many years and this one was one of the longest and hardest ones I've played, lots of information and many puzzles to keep up with. I enjoyed the characters that you meet and think the setting is interesting, even though I found myself lost in the tomb most of the time
